Stock the Shelves

T. M. Gaouette is proud to be a part of a fantastic promotional opportunity hosted by Chrism Press called “Stock the Shelves.” It’s a new joint effort to promote the inclusion of Catholic fiction in public libraries.

Did you know you can suggest titles for your public library’s permanent collection? As a writer of Catholic fiction for tweens and up, and as a member of Catholic Teen Books and the Catholic Writers Guild (along with several Catholic fiction organizations and dozens of authors), I want to flood our local libraries with fiction by Catholic and Orthodox Christian writers. What an amazing way to bring our unique sacramental perspective to a wider audience! Wouldn’t you like to see that? Well, you can certainly help us get there.

How can you help?
Simple! If you are a fan of Catholic and Orthodox fiction, want to read more, and want to share them with others, you can suggest titles for your public library’s permanent collection? Just fill out a request form at the library or via your library’s website. It costs nothing except a few minutes of your time.

If you’re a fan of my work, find all the information you need for all my titles below.

In addition, visit the Stock the Shelves campaign homepage at and check out some other great Catholic and Orthodox authors.

As always, thank you for your support and God bless you!

Discussing The Destiny of Sunshine Ranch with Young Readers!

This week, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mrs. Abramson’s 6th grade students!

As some of you may know, my novel The Destiny of Sunshine Ranch is part of their Language Arts curriculum. As a bonus, I’m invited to visit the class and discuss the many elements of the story and writing process. This is my third visit in as many years and every visit is just fantastic!

The students have a long list of questions prepared, and they’re always so extremely thought out and insightful. What a gift for an author to not only meet readers who enjoyed her novel, but to discuss the story and characters in depth!

I always enjoy my visits and pray that the students get as much out of them as I do!
Thank you again, Mrs. Abramson!

Check out the slideshow below for candid shots during our discussions!

Review: “Freeing Tanner Rose”- “Great Book with Wonderful Messages for Teens”

Freeing Tanner Rose is the story of young actress Tanner Rose. Her fame is overwhelming, she’s been making dangerous decisions, and her life is spiraling out of control. She is sent to live in the country with her mother’s friend Miss Ruth and son Gabriel to get away from the Hollywood lifestyle. The stark contrast between Tanner’s world and Gabriel’s life was stunning and Tanner’s growth and struggles were believable. The story highlights the destruction that fame can cause at a young age as well as the dangers of drugs and alcohol – which is an important message for all teens. There were a few aspects of the story that were unexpected. I thought I knew where the story was headed but was pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong. I especially loved the ending of this book. Throughout the story I kept wondering how it would conclude. I usually love a happy ending, all tied up in a pretty little bow, but wasn’t sure how that could be accomplished here and thought the author did a wonderful job. Great book with wonderful messages for teens.

Check out the following guest post at

Sex sells! And we live in a culture that has embraced that truth with relish. It promotes it in every possible way: the media, fashion, movies, books, magazines, television shows, and commercials. Sex isn’t a private thing anymore, it’s far from the act that God created specifically for a husband and wife. Now it’s for anyone wishing to partake.

Of course, celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Beyonce don’t help the cause. Performing simulated sexual acts on stage is what the former supports with indifference and the latter describes as feminism. These are performances akin to those that used to be kept secret behind the doors of a strip club. If only they would keep them in these more appropriate venues, instead of in a public forum with thousands of our children watching in awe and taking notes. No. Sex sells. And such behavior is no longer taboo.

But do you know what is taboo? Purity. Modesty. Chastity. These are just a few virtues shunned these days. They are criticized and ridiculed, as if it’s shameful to be dignified. Read more.
